About West Coventry Academy


We are pleased to announce the outcome of our short inspection on July 10th 2018:

"There is no change to the school’s current overall effectiveness grade of good as a result of this inspection."

We are thrilled that we remain a ‘good’ school and  delighted that the Ofsted team recognised the hard work staff, pupils and parents have put in over the last two challenging years.

The school was previously inspected by an Ofsted team in November 2014 and we were very proud of the report we received.

Each of the four OFSTED criteria and the overall school judgement was Good.

Some of the key findings were:

“Students’ achievement is good for all groups and their progress is good from their starting points”

“Teachers have high expectations and plan challenging lessons to engage all students”

“Behaviour is good. Students are polite and courteous and their positive attitudes help them to learn well in lessons”

“The sixth form is good. Students are taught well and they are given good support to prepare them for their future”

“Strong leadership ensures improvements are brought about to raise achievement”

“Governors are well informed and increasingly challenge school leaders to do better”
